We’re growing outside of our original Clearwater market and we’re recruiting driven, passionate franchise owners to help us replicate the stunning success we’ve enjoyed in Clearwater and Sarasota over the past decade.

We’re looking for family business owners, former food or restaurant operators, area managers or anyone with a sincere passion for meat and community involvement who wants to bring a Southern Steer to their community.

We’re looking for both single and multiple unit owners and if you have experience managing a team, this could be an amazing opportunity to research. During 2020, our same store sales were up 30% over the prior year and post-COVID, our sales plateaued up at 40% over normal. It is not uncommon for us to have lines out the door on our super-popular sale days of the week. Our stores have amassed a combined customer list of over 40,000 people who opt in to regular emails about our specials of the week. It is also not uncommon for customers to come several times a week or come weekly and fill up a freezer.

What Does It Cost to Open a Southern Steer Butcher Franchise?

The cost to open a new Southern Steer franchise will vary market by market. In general, we try to keep investment as low as possible so you can open and get to profitability quickly. Our total investment ranges from the high 200s to the low 500s. We look for in-line retail spaces near big-box home stores like Home Depot or Lowes, in shopping centers that have a lot of residential population. Typically, you will need 20-30% of the total investment as a down payment and we work with financing partners to help you get funding if you need it.
